I told him the biblical parable about the unwise girls (virgins) who failed to fill their candles with oil. They delayed their meeting with the Heavenly Bridegroom. And behold, the one who has prepared himself permanently will endure the trial. Candle oil is the love in our soul. In order to cross tomorrow, we must possess a minimal amount of conscious love and desire for God.
